To cultivate the interests of the next generation, we recently invited five talented high-school students to our company for a two-day software development experience. The aim of this initiative was to introduce the young people to the dynamic world of programming, problem-solving and innovation. The practical days give young people a close-up view of professions, help correct common misconceptions about careers, and allow them to critically assess their own skills and interests. In essence, the goal was to involve the students in real programming projects. From exploring the intricacies of the web’s fundamental building blocks, to designing algorithms, to the magic of a few lines of code turning into an entertaining chatbot – every moment was a step into the vast landscape of technical possibilities. The interactive sessions enabled the students to understand the collaborative nature of software development and the importance of teamwork in bringing ideas to life. We also took the time to share stories, answer questions and spark curiosity. It was not just about presenting the technical aspects, but about fostering a genuine passion for problem-solving and creative thinking.
A brief look at chatbots, fantasy worlds and AI art
One of the highlights of this experience was the joint development of a simple but ingenious chatbot. Under the guidance of our expert developers, the students set out to bring a digital conversation partner to life, and mastered their first steps in prompt engineering with ease. The excitement was palpable as they refined the chatbot’s responses, making it witty, engaging and ready for conversation. To add a touch of magic to their project, the students transported the chatbot into the worlds of Star Wars, The Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter. Through creative prompts, they trained the chatbot to respond with thematic flair and bring characters and scenarios from these popular franchises to life in the digital realm as a hilarious, entertaining mashup. They also ventured into creating AI images using the latest and most advanced film models, and explored their artistic side by formulating prompts precisely to create exciting, funny and action-packed scenes from films and games that have yet to be produced.
The two-day journey was more than just a glimpse into software development and AI engineering; it was a hands-on adventure at the intersection of technology, imagination and creativity. The students took home not only a chatbot and a collection of AI-generated artworks, but also a newly discovered appreciation for the limitless possibilities in the world of technology.

Hosting these five talented students was not only about providing an introduction to software development, but also about laying the foundations for future innovation. Their enthusiasm was inspiring and we are optimistic that our time together sparked a passion for technology, and we look forward to seeing how these individuals develop into the technology leaders of tomorrow.
